Unlimited Users
The ease of access to information that businesses need to manage their day-to-day operations often dictates their successes and failures. Today’s economy dictates the need to get to this information from anywhere and the quality of the data must be top notch.

In order for your information to be accurate, everyone that your business touches needs easy access to some portion of this information, including your customers. This is why Quantify has no per-user charges. Each person can have their own account with a role that dictates what they can and cannot do.

To provide this access there are a few primary components in Quantify and each has its own Windows-compliant installer (Vista included). You can typically get up and going with just a few button clicks.

The Database
Although most people today don’t realize it, the core of almost every software package is a database. Even Microsoft Word stores information in a small self contained file; the document. The database is where all of the information that you manage is stored. Quantify can use any data store, and the default is Microsoft SQL Server 2008. The Express version of SQL Server is free and can store a lot of information. Given the proper management of the connection to the database it can be accessed by thousands of concurrent users.

Database Tools
To make the creation, backup, and restoring of the database easy you’ll use the Quantify Database Tools. This product is included with each purchase. You can put a database on a single computer if you’re running in a small office, share it with others in your office if you’re on a network, or if you have a server you can install the database there.

Windows Client

image The Windows Client is installed on your local computer and is the software that you’ll use in your daily operations. It connects to the database and provides a spot to where you enter data, as well as formats the information in a manner that you can use (such as a delivery or an invoice). Reports also connect to the database in a predefined format and the pivot controls allow you to slice and dice data to see exactly what you want.

Since Quantify has unlimited users, we encourage everyone to connect. Does the CEO of your enterprise want to see utilization at a certain branch or region, or asset values? Does the estimator need to see how much equipment is on a job that’s ending next month? Quantify was designed for everyone to drill down into what they need to do.

 

Mobile Web
In today’s marketplace people need instant access to information from various devices, no matter where they are.

With Quantify you can connect from home, work, your cell phone, or simply a web browser. Quantify is both web-based and Windows-based (and these mobile tools are optional). If you store the database on a central server that’s exposed to the internet (we offer hosting services if you don’t want to manage such a server), a connection is made available with the Mobile Web. Simply install it on the server.

You still use the same Windows Client to connect; Quantify essentially uses the internet as a network. What’s more, the mobile web also installs a web site that allow you to view inventory balances, maps of your locations and jobs via Google maps, and even track the locations of your serialized assets.

Scale
Quantify is licensed per branch office with unlimited users per office. Having unlimited users makes the licensing simple, affordable, and allows you to scale with the growth of your company.

For large enterprises Quantify can be distributed on many application and database servers to provide tighter security, thousands of concurrent users, and fault tolerance.
